ABOUT US

“My People Are Rising” is a collaborative project between Green Eyed Media (FIlm and Photography), United Roots (Music) and Gameheads (Tech). We hope that this project can serve as an example of what can be accomplished when organizations work together — with the help of young talent — to create culturally rich content.

GREEN EYED MEDIA is a production company founded in 2004 that provides music, film, photography, graphic design, and educational services. Through arts education, media production and commerce, it’s mission is to promote Latino, African-American, Indigenous, and other marginalized voices, in the global entertainment community.  Although it does not exclusively support these groups of people, the organization is dedicated to public health, environmental justice, and cultural equity.

UNITED ROOTS engages and empowers marginalized youth in socially innovative ways. We accomplish this by providing arts and media training, career and workforce development, community engagement and wellness services.

GAMEHEADS is a tech justice program with a game design and development focus. This platform was developed by Game Heads, a Tech-Justice program housed at United Roots, and it is geared to provide a opportunity for former Panther Party members to share their stories and so that we may reclaim historical space in Oakland and the greater West Coast region. If you are interested in sharing your story please write us at [email protected]
